Multi. Co. and Polk County Farmers Union Conventions

You are invited to take part in the Multi. Co. and Polk County Farmers Union Conventions on August 12th starting at 5:30 p.m. at MN Farmers Union Camp on Lake Sarah's West side. A grilled pork chop supper and fixings will be served followed by the meeting.  Judy Moen, Polk County Farmers Union President will preside.

Minnesota Farmers Union is a grass roots organization, they are looking for ideas, concerns and issues you have to set up resolutions for the State Convention held in November. Your ideas are always welcome d.

Thom Peterson, Government Relations Director, St. Paul, MN will be the guest speaker.  Area State Representatives and Senators will be invited to speak.

Location of MFU Park:  Coming from the north, go to junction U.S. Hwy 59 and Hwy #2, go south three miles to Co. Rd. #41 go west four miles to west side of Lake Sarah, go south 1/2 mile on gravel road around to the east, Park is on the north side.

Mahnomen & Norman Farmers Union Conventions to be held August 12


You are invited attend the Mahnomen & Norman Farmers Union Conventions on August 12th, a Noon Pot Luck Picnic will be held at Mahnomen County Presidents Farm,  Bryan & Jennifer Klabunde , 2843 - 140th Ave. Waubun, MN.  

Minnesota Farmers Union is a grass roots organization and it's time to get your thoughts and issues down as resolutions, to go to the State Convention in Novenber.

Thom Peterson, Government Relations Director, St. Paul will be the guest speaker. Area State Representatives and Senators will be invited to cover the State issues.

Location to Farm: Coming from the south, Go to U.S. Highway 59, Waubun, MN from Junction of 59 and St. Hwy 113 go  four miles north, two miles west  on Co. Rd # 6 and 1/2 mile south to farm.

Coming from the North,  go south of Mahnomen, MN Junction of St. Hwy 200 and US 59, go south 6 miles on 59 to Co. Rd # 6, go west 2 miles and 1/2 mile south.

Norman County folks  go east on Co. Rd #31 east of Twin Valley, MN, then  go to Mahnomen Co. line the road switchs to Mahnomen Co. #6 , go four miles east and 1/2 mile south to the Klabunde Farm.

ND Corn Growers host 2013 Cornvention in Fargo

Fargo, Feb. 5, 2013: The North Dakota Corn Growers Association announces their 2013 Annual Cornvention planned for February 20, 2013, at the Holiday Inn, located at 3808 13th Ave. S., Fargo. This one-day seminar will be held from 7 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., and aims to educate agriculture producers in North Dakota on the future and trends of the industry.

Topics at this year’s Cornvention include presentations from V.J. Smith, Ron Nelson of Thurston Genetics, Leon Osborne of UND Regional Weather Info Center, NDCGA scholarship recipients, a review of 2012 wetland issues and outlook on NRCS with state conservationist Mary Podoll, a Northern Plains Nitrogen update with Dave Ripplinger of NDSU and Darin Anderson, Chairman NPN, vendor visits, the Corn Growers meeting, and the drawing for the grand prize.

The North Dakota Corn Growers, in conjunction with the North Dakota Soybean Growers, will also be hosting a social for Cornvention attendees the evening of Feb. 19 at the Holiday Inn Poolside Rooms.

The North Dakota Corn Growers were organized in 1987 making ND one of the 48 states affiliated with the National Corn Growers Association.

The North Dakota Corn Growers association serves as the activity arm of the North Dakota Corn Council. Corn Growers have currently identified five priorities and have developed action teams to work on these priorities including: grower services, public policy, stewardship and conservation, research, livestock and ethanol marketing.

ATV Fall Convention Sept 14-16

The All-Terrain Vehicle Association of Minnesota (ATVAM) will be holding its annual fall convention the weekend of September 14th-16th in Isle, Minnesota.  All ATV enthusiasts are encouraged to attend the convention that will include festivities ranging from organized rides to ATVAM’s famous auction.  

George Radke, President of ATVAM said, "We are thrilled to visit McQuoid’s Inn again and enjoy the wonderful trail riding opportunities and the many other activities that the community of Isle offers.  ATVAM encourages all ATV enthusiasts from across the state to join them for ATV riding and many other events.”

The Mille Lacs Drift Skippers ATV and Snowmobile club based out of Central Minnesota is hosting the fall Convention and sponsoring the bonfire and barbeque on Friday evening for those registered.  Mike DeVine, member of the Drift Skippers ATV and Snowmobile Club is excited to invite ATV riders to the Mille Lacs Lake area.  Mike said, "We have put a lot of time and effort into planning this convention and it should be a huge success, and most importantly a lot of fun." DeVine continued, “We’re excited to showcase part of the new Northwoods Regional Trail System which includes the Solana, Red Top and Foxy loops. The Northwoods Regional Trail System connects more than 500 miles of excellent trail riding opportunities.”

The three-day event is packed full of things to do for the whole family.  Festivities will include: organized ATV trail rides, information about new ATV laws and safety features, and time for members to discuss ATV related issues with ATVAM's officers and government relations staff. Polaris has sponsored the convention this year and will host the Saturday evening dinner for all registered guests.
