DOT Open house for Hwys 10 and 75 corridor study

MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan Council of Governments (Metro COG), MATBus, and the City of Moorhead are hosting an open house on Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the New Commons Building at the Moorhead High School to gather input for the future vision of the Highways 10 and 75 corridors in Moorhead.

The purpose of this open house is to gather input, determine needs and listen to community members to help guide the development of recommendations. MnDOT District 4 is planning to complete a reconstruction project in 2025 along Highways 10 and 75, and plans to incorporate the findings of this study into the design and public outreach.

The event will start with a brief presentation at 4:45 p.m., to review the Highway 10/75 corridor study. Then, community members will have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with the study partners.

Handicap entrance is located at the South entrance (Door #1) of the building, and an elevator is available at the North entrance (Door #13). If you are arriving using public transportation, Route #3 makes a stop at Moorhead High School.

Shoulder repair project on Hwy 9 between Barnesville and Glyndon begins tomorrow

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – Motorists can expect brief delays on Highway 9 between Highway 34 near Barnesville and Highway 10 near Glyndon, beginning Wednesday, August 22. Crews will be performing maintenance and repairs to the shoulder. 

During this work, motorists should plan for daily lane restrictions in the areas where crews are working. The project is expected to last approximately three days, weather permitting.

MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, and reminds them to eliminate distractions and slow down in the work zone.

Highway 10 traffic switch in Detroit Lakes begins June 1

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – Motorists on Highway 10 on the west side of Detroit Lakes will encounter a traffic shift Monday, June 1, weather permitting. All traffic will move to the north side of the highway with a single lane in each direction.

Businesses along the adjacent frontage road will remain accessible through temporary median crossings. Those crossing locations will shift throughout the project.

Delays on Highway 10 are likely this summer, particularly on Friday and Sunday afternoons as people travel between Fargo-Moorhead and the lakes area. Motorists should consider alternate routes to avoid delays.

The overall project will result in several improvements to the transportation system in the Detroit Lakes area. Key elements include:

·         Resurfacing of Highway 10 from the Detroit Lakes airport to Highway 59

·         Reconstructing and realigning the frontage road along Highway 10 and Highway 59 (including a multi-use trail)

·         Constructing a bridge on Highway 59 to connect an extension of Holmes Street with the new frontage road system

Highway 10 fully reopens between Detroit Lakes, Boyer Lake

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – All four lanes of Highway 10 have reopened to traffic between Detroit Lakes and Boyer Lake, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

 

Crews removed the barricades Wednesday night, Aug. 21.

 

The westbound lanes have been closed since late May for a resurfacing project.

 

Motorists will notice a smoother ride along eight miles of westbound Highway 10.
