Shoulder repair project on Hwy 9 between Barnesville and Glyndon begins tomorrow

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – Motorists can expect brief delays on Highway 9 between Highway 34 near Barnesville and Highway 10 near Glyndon, beginning Wednesday, August 22. Crews will be performing maintenance and repairs to the shoulder. 

During this work, motorists should plan for daily lane restrictions in the areas where crews are working. The project is expected to last approximately three days, weather permitting.

MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, and reminds them to eliminate distractions and slow down in the work zone.

Highway 9 detour removed between Ada and Borup

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Motorists can once again travel on Highway 9 between Ada and Borup as the detour has been lifted and the project is complete.

The detour, which began May 23, allowed crews to replace the bridge over the Wild Rice River.

Redstone Construction completed the $2.6 million project, which created a higher clearance over the Wild Rice River. It will reduce flooding potential and ensure a safer roadway for motorists in the region.

Highway 9 detour from Ada to Borup begins May 23

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Motorists on Highway 9 south of Ada will experience a detour beginning May 23 as crews replace the bridge over the Wild Rice River.

The detour follows Norman County Road 24 located three miles east of Ada to County Road 39 near Borup. It is expected to last about four months, weather permitting.

An open house will take place May 19 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Ada Public Works building, 900 West Main St., Ada. Everyone is welcome to come when convenient to view the project timeline, detour and anticipated traffic impacts. There will not be a formal presentation, but representatives from MnDOT and the project contractor will be on hand to answer questions.

Redstone Construction is the contractor for the $2.6 million project, which will create a higher clearance over the river to reduce flooding impacts and ensure a safer roadway for motorists in the region.

MnDOT urges motorists to follow these recommendations in work zones: stay alert; watch for signs, equipment and workers; minimize distractions, such as using cell phones, eating or drinking; avoid tailgating; follow posted speed limits and directional signs; and stay in one lane while driving through the work zone.
