Traffic from 12th St. E to 9th St. E. will now be traveling head-to-head; one lane in each direction, on the westbound lanes of the new Main Ave. roadway. Previously, traffic was crossing over Main Ave. at 12th St. E. (at the Magellen Pipeline access) and traveling on the old roadway in the work zone. Removal of the old roadway from 12th St. E. to 9th St. E. will begin with this traffic shift. The traveling public should also note:
· Business access on west end of work zone has changed: Frontage road from 5th St. E to 9th St. E closed and is being removed. Access to the businesses located along this stretch of the corridor is currently via 1st Avenue E and the cross street of 8th Street E, where currently customers can also access these businesses to the south.
· Business access on east end of work zone has changed: The current south business frontage road between 17th St. E. to 45th St. NW. has been removed and private business driveways have been installed. Each driveway is currently accessible to traffic and directional signage is in place for access.
17th St. E. from 2nd Ave. S to Main Ave. is temporary closed: This section of roadway is temporary closed for underground utilities and concrete paving. Traffic is detoured to 45th St. NW. and/or 9th St. E. to access Main Ave. from the south. Motorists will not have access to Main Ave. when traveling northbound on 17th St. E.
