FREE PARENT ADVOCACY WORKSHOP



On Saturday, May 10th, the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law’s Parental Readiness and Empowerment Program (PREP), in conjunction with Minneapolis Public Schools and the Office for Family, Student and Community Engagement, will host a free advocacy workshop for parents and their children. During the workshop, parents learn more about the special education process and how to prepare for an IEP (Individualized Education Program) meeting.  Additionally, parents will have the opportunity to meet with volunteer advocates to discuss their child's educational needs and develop an action plan to address those needs in the Educational Consultation Clinic.

9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., Registration
10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Workshop & Clinic
