Twins Team Up W/ Commerce Dept for Financial Literacy

ST. PAUL, MN – Attention all Minnesota Kids in Grades 3-5. As Financial Literacy Month continues, Commerce Commissioner Mike Rothman and Minnesota Twins mascot TC the Bear kicked off a statewide financial literacy essay contest today. ALL Minnesota kids in grades 3-5 are encouraged to participate.

The essay contest, called Hit a Homerun for Financial Literacy Month <http://mn.gov/commerce/consumers/financial-literacy/essay-contest-for-kids.js...> 


is sponsored by Governor Mark Dayton, the Minnesota Department of Commerce, and the Minnesota Twins. Kids interested in participating in the contest should submit a 300 word essay in response to this question:

If you were 100 years old, what three things would you tell your grandchildren to do to make smart financial decisions for their future?

The winner of the essay contest will:

1. Receive four free tickets to a Minnesota Twins baseball game at Target Field;
2. Get baseball memorabilia signed by Minnesota Twins baseball players; and
3. Be recognized on the big screen during the baseball game
