Crews from Northstar Materials Inc. will install a
sub-surface drain on Highway 200 at County Road 35, which will reduce the
impacts of a dip in the road that can be produced during the winter months.
They will then replace culverts and resurface Highway 9 from Ada
to the Norman and Polk
County line.
The detour for the Highway 200 portion of the project
follows Highway 9 to Norman County Road 63 and County Road 24. The detour for
Highway 9 follows Highway 200 to Norman County Road 18, Polk County Road 14 and
Polk County Road 1.
Once the detours are removed, motorists will experience
daily lane closures with flaggers and a pilot car to help keep the construction
zone safe.
The $5.02 million project is being performed concurrently
with the City of Ada ’s Flood Protection
Project in order to reduce the overall impacts on motorists. It is scheduled
for completion near the end of September, weather permitting.
The project will improve drainage and motorists will
experience a smoother ride and safer highway when the project is complete.
