FARGO, N.D. (May 14, 2012) – The Minn-Kota Region of the American Red Cross has received a grant in the amount of $4,000 from Dakota Medical Foundation to support emergency programs and services as a match after the successful fundraising efforts during Giving Hearts Day.
The Red Cross raised over $15,000 in individual donations through the Impact Foundation’s Giving Hearts Day and received the $4,000 match from DMF to put the total raised over $19,000. These funds are used to support emergency services and programs throughout the region.
In the Minn-Kota Region last year, Red Cross volunteers responded to a disaster every 19 hours, providing comfort for victims through assisting with shelter, clothing, food, bedding and winter outerwear.
