DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Motorists on Interstate 94 east of Moorhead may encounter delays beginning May 7 when a bridge project begins. Crews will resurface and paint the eastbound and westbound bridges over the Buffalo River, located four miles east of Moorhead.
Traffic will first be switched to the eastbound lanes early next week to allow crews to work on the westbound bridge. The crossover will be less than one mile.
Once the westbound bridge work is complete in late July, traffic will be switched to the westbound lanes while crews work on the eastbound bridge.
The project is scheduled to be complete in mid-October, weather permitting.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones. For statewide travel information, visit www.511mn.org, call 5-1-1 or log on to www.mndot.gov.
