Detour on Highway 6 north of Deer River begins May 14

BEMIDJI, Minn. – (9:00 am) Motorists on Highway 6 north of Deer River and south of Highway 286 will encounter a detour beginning Wednesday, May 14 as crews make an emergency culvert repair, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The detour from the south will follow County Road 19 east to County Road 48 north; follow Highway 38 north to Marcell, and then Highway 286 west. It will last up to two weeks, weather permitting.
The project will make an emergency culvert repair, improve drainage, and reduce flooding.
Motorists should always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road or lane blocked with barriers or cones.
